The Highlanders logo was inspired after a viewing of Braveheart. I thought an image of one of the fighters from the movie would make a great logo. I based the team as a Basketball team, and used the pattern of basketball panels on the shield as a secondary logo. Navy, Teal, and Silver fit as a nondescript Scottish plaid pattern and carried over as the primary colors for the team. Because the name "Highland Highlanders" would be redundant, the team is just known as "The Highlanders."
